Q: Who are you?

A: My name is Derek and I work professionally in the Entertainment Industry as a Post Production Producer on various television programs. I am also a critical/skeptical investigator into the Billy Meier UFO Case.

 

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: Vaccines save lives. Not getting vaccinated not only puts your life, or your child’s life, at risk, but it also puts the lives of others around you at risk. There are a number of people, approximately 3-5%, that are unable to receive vaccines due to various medical conditions. This group of people relies on “herd immunity” to prevent them from getting sick. If the percentage of vaccinated people in a community drops too low then the community becomes at risk to outbreaks of vaccine preventable illnesses.

 

Q: How do you calculate the number of Vaccine Preventable Illnesses?

A: I use two tables from the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports. Table I contains the weekly reported case numbers of the following vaccine preventable diseases: Diphtheria, Haemophilus Influenzae Serotype B (HIB), Measles, Meningococcal Disease A C Y & W-135, Poliomyelitis, and Poliovirus. Table II contains the weekly reported case numbers of the following vaccine preventable diseases: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Mumps, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Rubella (Table I prior to 2015), Tetanus (Table I prior to 2015), and Varicella (Chickenpox). Q: How do you calculate the number of Vaccine Preventable Deaths?

A: The vast majority of the deaths listed are for Influenza-Associated Pediatric Mortality taken from Table I of the CDC MMWR. Annual death data for all other diseases, including Influenza-Associated Non-Pediatric Mortality, are reported in the National Vital Statistics Reports. However, the National Vital Statistics Reports are three years delayed which means that the 2007 death data was reported in 2010, the 2008 death data was reported in 2011, the 2009 death data was reported in 2012, and so on.

 

Q: Are your numbers only from the United States?

A: Yes. It would be far too difficult for me to collect all of the worldwide numbers of vaccine preventable illnesses and vaccine preventable deaths.

 

Q: How do you know that all of these illnesses and deaths are due to people not being vaccinated?

A: I don’t and I don’t believe that anyone can say that all vaccine preventable illnesses and vaccine preventable deaths are due to people not being vaccinated. However, in nearly all of the outbreak cases that I have read on the CDC website the “index patient” has been unvaccinated.

 

Q: How often do you update the website?

A: It is my intention to update the website every week or, at the very least, every month.

 

Q: Do you have a Badge or Widget that I can put on my website or blog?

A: I have no idea how to make such an object. However, Federico Brigante does and he made several versions that you can find here and René Roth also made several versions that you can find here.

 

Q: Who pays you?

A: No one pays me to do this website. I don't even have Google Ads on the website so I don't make any money at all with it. I do it because I think it is important. Q: Why did you change the name of the website?

A: From the launch of the site in March 2009 to December 2012 this website was named after a specific celebrity anti-vaccination advocate. I want to make it absolutely clear that I did not change the name due to any legal action. I was never contacted by anyone to change the name. I decided to change it on my own. The primary reason I did was that the anti-vaccination movement is larger than one individual. Even if that individual decided to support the vaccination program there would still be others out there trying to convince people not to vaccinate their children and the information on this website would be better served if it dealt with the entire anti-vaccination community rather than just one individual.
